Dr. Dawn Alden received her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine (ND) from Bastyr University California in San Diego in 2018. She received her B.A. in both Biological Sciences and Philosophy from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Dr. Alden uses the Principles of Naturopathic Medicine to guide her approach to patient care. Specifically, Vis Medicatrix Naturae (Healing Power of Nature), Tolle Causam (Identify and Treat the Cause), Treat the Whole Person and Prevention are four of the principles she finds missing in our conventional model of healthcare. Dr. Alden firmly believes that each person has capacity for healing if they are given the correct tools and guidance.
Her tools include lab testing, nutrition and nutraceuticals, exercise, botanicals, homeopathy, prescription medication, prolotherapy, ozone therapy, and intravenous and injection therapy. If needed, Dr. Alden will refer out of chiropractic, acupuncture and counseling.
Clinical interests include integrative oncology, sports injuries (Prolotherapy), hormones, thyroid disorders, diabetes/metabolic health, liver disorders and long COVID. Dr. Alden is certified in ozone therapy and a graduate of Dr. Nasha Winters’ The Metabolic Approach to Cancer Physician Mastermind training program.
Expanding access to naturopathic medicine has been extremely important to Dr. Alden which is why she is an active member in the California Naturopathic Doctors Association (CNDA), the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP) and the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians (OncANP). She has attended lobbying efforts in Sacramento and Washington, DC. With a background in politics, Dr. Alden firmly believes that naturopathic medicine has the potential to lower healthcare costs by helping people live healthier, happier lives.
Outside the clinic Dr. Alden enjoys Zumba, watching movies, trying new restaurants, hiking and traveling with friends and family.
